Where do I begin…… well I’ve always dabbled in crafts from a very early age, watching my Nan for hours on end machine knitting baby garments, or my Mom making clothes for myself and my 2 younger sisters. Whilst they both tried to teach me what they knew, I initially never had much interest and always preferred to have my nose in a book instead and I was quite literally a book worm!
However, in my late teens, 2 work colleague introduced me to the art of cross stitch embroidery. Well it wasn’t long before I was hooked and project after project ensued. Most never got framed and still remain hidden away “for later” or my most treasured masterpieces were given as gifts to my Dad, which now hang pride of place in my Mom and Dad’s home.
Soon this love of cross stitch then turned into dabbling in card making, when by chance I received a papercraft catalogue in the post. I can do that I thought to myself, and there you go another hobby was born. At first it was a sticker here and a peel off there, until my confidence grew and found myself not only making cards for all occasions, but also exploding box keepsakes, which I have to say were a favourite of mine!
Then a couple of years ago, I saw some magnificent jewellery creations on social media and thought, I’d love to have a go at that, so I did! At first I had no idea what I was doing, but did lots of research and practiced lots and again I was delighted with the beautiful pieces I could create.
You would think that I would stop there, but no – I also branched out to making other gifts: keyring, decorative hearts, suncatchers and wine glass charms to name a few.
I also know I won’t stop there and will keep on experimenting and possibly trying to infuse them all together into one major project. I just love making pretty things and I hope that shows across the website.
I love what I do and hope you do too.
